Finish: Frost / Red plum with pink shimmer
Known Dupes: Sweet Chestnut, Heritage Rouge pigment, NYX Rust
Cranberry is absolutely one of my top favorites from all of MAC’s eyeshadows. This is one of the few I have already hit the pan on and will be repurchasing again and again. This is such a beautiful, versatile shade that is perfect for giving you that ‘pop’ of color. Pigmentation is high and blendability is superior. This is especially great for making blue and green eyes stand out. This is one posting I can definitely say that will be continually updated, so keep checking back for new looks!
Look #1
MAC eyeshadows used:
- Sable (on lid, below crease)
- Cranberry (crease)
- Blanc Type (blend)

Wow! These are some great combinations. I love Cranberry too. One of my favourite combinations is pairing it with Mythology on the lid as you have done in Look 3. I love wearing it with golds, peaches, pinks and burgundies. I tried it a while ago on the lid with Sketch in the crease, a litle Seedy Pearl in the inner corner and Vanilla to highlight. It makes a gorgeous cranberry smokey eye :o) .

Thanks, Saira!
That combination sounds beautiful! π
maya
You have 3 looks but i only find one look how can i get to it?
Zabrena
Hi Maya,
There are actually 26 pictures of combinations with Cranberry, but to be able to see them all you would need to sign up for membership.
If you’d like to do so, you’re welcome to sign up here: http://www.myeyeshadowconsultant.com/membership

Love 8-however don’t have Gleam-what shade would be closest to Gleam maybe without so much shimmer? I have a ton of mac shadows so maybe hopefully another shade would be similar.
thanks
macshadowcombos
Hmm, that’s a tough one.
I would say try Paradisco or Expensive Pink.
I personally don’t like Gleam at all, so you’re not missing anything! π

OHH-good I have Expensive pink YAY

How does Cranberry compare to Star Violet? I already have Cranberry and was wondering if you think it is worth getting Star Violet as well? Thank you so much!
Zabrena
Hi Sasha!
Thanks for asking! π
The two are very different from one another. Star Violet is a light pink purple shade that is almost transparent, while Cranberry is a strong, vibrant red shade. Star Violet is great for creating seamless transitions in like colors, but isn’t one that can really be applied to the lid, as it is so sheer. Cranberry works both ways. Very different but I love them both! π
Melody Wang
Love love them all

hi. just discovered your site and been spending TONS of time on it. I love the look of cranberry but don’t have it yet. I do have LE vanglorious. Is this a dupe for cranberry? or should I put it on my must have list?
Zabrena
Hi Laura! Welcome to you! π Thank you for becoming a member!
Vainglorious is a less pigmented, less bright version of Cranberry; it can be difficult to work with and the color isn’t an exact match.
Cranberry is definitely in a league all its own, in my opinion; I think you would really love it! π
Laura Boyd
Thank you Zabrena. I have found vanglorious hard to work with but I thought it was just me. π I am still perfecting the art of eyeshadow application. I’m def. going to add cranberry to my list.
Tiziana Spiteri
I love cranberry inglot dupe 449

I’m thinking of trying Look 22 for Thanksgiving, but it looks like Heritage Rouge is no longer available from MAC. Do you have any suggestions for a substitute? Thanks! These are all lovely.
Zabrena
Hi Lindsay! π
You could get a sample of Heritage Rouge! That’s usually how I buy discontinued pigments; there’s SO much in one sample, I’ve only ever gone through one. Here’s a great, cheap place to find it: http://www.thebodyneeds2.com/MAC_Pigment_Sample_in_Heritage_Rouge_p/heritage%20rouge.htm
Other than that, you could substitute with Deep Damson possibly, a different finish but still a beautiful deep burgundy color π
Lindsay Makowski
Thanks for the suggestion, Zebrena! I actualyl did find that it’s still sold. I hadn’t realized it was a pigment at first and was looking through the eyeshadows. I’m super excited to wear this look tomorrow!
Zabrena
Oh good! π I was thinking they still sold it, but you never know with how ‘discontinue-happy’ they get.
How’d it come out?!
Lindsay Makowski
It was gorgeous!

I recently ordered pigment samples from thebodyneed2.com, went a bit crazy but oh well; love me some pigment samples but to the point Cranberry is so pretty Golden Olive pigment, Gorgeous!!!

I love looks 4, 11, 13, 16, 21 and 22. I actually have Mac’s cranberry and Folie, but I don’t have any other shades. Can I recreate any one of the above looks with UD Natural Basics or Vice 2 shades? Like maybe Coax/Dope instead of Pink Freeze and Venus instead of Blanc Type/Vanilla? Not sure what I can use to replace Swish, but I think I have soft brown and mulch covered. Hmm…
Cynthia Francis Hanley
Look 4 I tried to recreate, but it didn’t turn out the same. Is something missing from your instructions? For example, your pic looks like you have something in the crease, but that isn’t mentioned? Also what do you use as a brow highlighter (that is left out of looks). Thanks! Happy holidays!
Zabrena
Hi Cynthia!
Yep, something is missing! Sorry about that. For each of those shades, when I applied them to the lid, I carried them into the crease also and then blended them up to the brow bone. So maybe that’s what you’re seeing? I’ll go back and add that in. π
P.S. (I edited out the combo you listed in your comment as comments are not protected like the pictures are ;))
Cynthia Francis Hanley
Thanks for the reply. Sorry I didn’t realize I was publicly sharing that! Whoops. I knew I was missing something. I’m excited to retry!

Wow, 30 is gorgeous!

Soo gorgeous!

Hi Z,
I’m new to the site, and really enjoying it.
Love the look of #24 and 25. Would you know which MUG shadows could be used instead?
Yvette Wilson
Bought this today. While at MAC when I asked the girl for the color she said she would love to see it on me, that it would look so great with my eyes. I was wearing MUG Cosmo over maybellines pomegranate punk pp, which I love better then without. I had to try the cranberry color out when I got home so I put it on in the crease, OMG!!! I already can’t wait to wear it again tomorrow.
I got their objects of affection pink pigments on and glitter set on Friday with Heritage Rouge in it. Can’t wait to wear that one. Waiting for my supplies to come so I can rewatch your video and press them lol.
I saw one MUA today that I deal with most of the time and she told me to punch in. Guess I’m there a lot LMAO!!

Hi Zabrena –
LOVE your site and think you are amazing!! I have a limited amount of MAC shadows but do have lots of other stuff. I was wondering if you could suggest some looks using cranberry and Naked1, Naked3, Stila In the Moment and/or Stila in the Garden? Would be much appreciated!! For MAC colors I have: amber lights, brown down, expensive pink, black tied, and red brick. Thanks!!
beautywithin
I recently discovered that Quarry looks great in the crease with Cranberry on the lid.
Zabrena
Ouuu! I need to try that one! Thanks for adding that!
