Finish: Veluxe Pearl / Khaki with pearl
Sumptuous Olive is an eyeshadow I debated over for a while because I didn’t know how it would pair with my blue-green eyes. Turns out it’s not that scary afterall! I like the blendability of this shade and how easily it matches other colors from MAC’s line. It does have some shimmer in it and didn’t fade on me after wearing it for over 12 hours. I am very impressed with this color and feel badly I didn’t buy it sooner!
Look #1
MAC eyeshadows used:
- Sumptuous Olive (on lid, below crease)
- Star Violet (crease)
- Vanilla (blend)

Okay, this is probably a really dumb question, Zabrena, but when you add new looks to a “spotlight”, are they added at the end or the beginning? For example, with Sumptuous Olive, are the new looks #1, 2 and 3 or are they 4, 5 and 6?
Zabrena
Naw, that’s not a dumb question!
I generally add them onto the end, but Sumptuous Olive had like literally 3 combos in this post, so I rearranged them a bit. The new ones are #2, 3 and 4 this time. I plan to do more with this color to bulk up this post some more. Forgot how much I love it!

Well, now I AM glad I asked. I was in Montreal last week and stumbled (almost literally) into an Inglot store and nearly bought one of the shadows – 419, I think – til I read that it’s very much like Sumptuous Olive. I did get 3 of their shadows, though and they are terrific. I don’t know if there’s an Inglot store near you but, oh my – you would feel you’d died and gone to heaven in there, for the eyeshadows alone (I never even looked at anything else – it was all just too overwhelming and I only had a short bit of time).
Zabrena
It’s so funny you say that – I been intrigued by Inglot lately after seeing a few looks using their eyeshadows from our ladies. I may just have to wander into a store here and check ’em out!
Mariella
You’re lucky to have one near by enough that you can wander in. The nearest one to me is a 6 hour drive (possibly longer) but it is where my youngest son is working so I could, conceivably, email him a list of shadows to get for me but the thing is I really do like to see things “in the flesh”. If you do go to Inglot, prepare yourself (valium and smelling salts might be good ideas!) – there is just SO MUCH, even if you just look at the eye shadows and palettes that they have to hold them.

DEar Zabrena, thank you for these new combos, they are my favourite, i adore greens!
Please tell me, what could i used instead of MOtif that i dont have i in look #2?
Zabrena
Hmm, that’s a tough one! I’d have to say the closest you could come without Motif would be something like Expensive Pink. Motif has that pink duochrome similar to EP. 🙂

Just did look 5-I love the way it looks. only change I made was I used tarnished kohl under bottom lashes instead of the eyeshadow. Sump. Olive was always one of my favorites, have had it forever. However Humid was just added to my collection and I am very happy with it also
Thanks Z

Thank You so much for this, I’ve just recreated Look 6 in my own You Tube video and I loved the outcome. (I mentioned I got the idea from your website and put a link in my description, I hope this is ok, I’m not 100% sure of You Tube etiquette yet). I’ve had this eyeshadow for ages and ages and didn’t know what to do with it, and I’ve also had coquette and never thought of pairing them. With green eyes, I was scared of green but it look fab, so thanks again :0)
Zabrena
That’s perfect! Thank you for mentioning the site, Karen, I appreciate that! You did a GORGEOUS job recreating that look!!
Robyn
Hey Z! I would have never have bought a green eyeshadow since my eyes are blue, but I love some of these combos and now I have this color. I’m wearing combo #8 and I love it! So thank you again! Can’t tell you enough how much your website has helped me. 🙂
Zabrena
That is awesome to hear, Robyn! 🙂 I’m so happy to hear you’re enjoying the site and it’s helping you discover new colors you might not have thought of previously. YAY! 😉

I wore look 6 today. I thought it was soooo gorgeous that I even posted my eyes on FB and Instagram! However I did not use Bows & Curtsies I used Plumage. Loved the look. Thanks so much for the idea, I had forgotten I even had Sumptuous Olive. Loved it!!
Zabrena
Awww! That’s awesome! I love hearing that!
I do the same thing with Sumptuous Olive; it’s often forgotten and then drooled over all over again later – haha!
