While I love the dramatic and colorful eyeshadow combinations best, I realize they don’t work for all situations, especially the more conservative, corporate environments most of us are subjected to daily. So, I’ve put together a list of the top ten neutral eyeshadow combinations I like to use for the everyday grind – enjoy!
Look #1 – one of my most favorites!
MAC eyeshadows used:
- Blanc Type (inner half of lid, blend and highlight)
- Cork (outer half of lid)
- Brown Script (crease)

Perfect post for me. I just started getting into MAC eye shadows, and have a few of the ones you worked with above. I am enjoying your blog, and look at it almost every day!

Hi Christina!
Thank you for the feedback – I’m glad the blog has been able to help you!
I get so caught up in the variety of colors MAC has that I sometimes forget about the more subdued “everyday” neutral combinations that are just as nice. I’ll try to put together another one soon! 🙂

Could you do some looks with the mega metals? Great blog btw

Its really hard to see your blog/website with black as a background. I love your photos, but again very hard to see.

Hello, I’m pretty new with experimenting with different eyeshadows.. I find myself buying a lot of different palettes. BE, MUG, Lorac,…a lot! it can be a bit confusing. Although MAC is a bit pricey for me, how do they compare to MUG. I’ve started my collection but I’m afraid I may be purchasing colors that are not complimentary. I’m warm and a woman of color. Is there somewhere I can dupe MAC with MUG to get similar colors for brown eyes? I am really enjoying your website, I’m new but it is so informative…Thanks so much!

Oh, Z…These are beautiful combos. I’ve learned so much in the short time I’ve been a member. I considered myself very knowledgeable in regards to makeup application until I joined you site. I didn’t even know that there was a blending shade that was the same color as your skin…like for me a great one would be Blanc Type (need to get that one). None of the other “gurus” do that, and it looks SO MUCH BETTER…so smooth and blended. You are a treasure.
