Spotlight On: MAC Jest

Finish: Frost / Soft peach with icy shimmer

Known Dupes: Tissueweight, Jete, Deckchair pigment

Jest is a muted pink neutral shade ideal for those with warm complexions. If you’re of a cooler complexion, I recommend going with Naked Lunch as it’s the cooler version of Jest. I love this shade and how it makes my eyes come alive when a darker color is used in the crease. This is one I didn’t warm up to quickly. However, after patience and time, I feel I have found the combos that I really love and I hope these will help many of you who may have not quite figured this one out. 🙂

Look #1

MAC eyeshadows used:

  • Jest (on lid, below crease)
  • Mythical LE (crease) – you could also use ‘Cranberry’ here
  • Embark (deepen outer crease and line upper and lower lashline)
  • Blanc Type (blend)

  1. Love your combinations! I’ve used Jest as a highlighter with Shale on the lid, Wedge in the crease, Sketch in the outer V and to deepen the crease.

  2. I’m ordering more… you know Mac really should give you some money for all the sales you’re helping them with… Jest is going in my basket… along with Saddle, Vanilla (I’m listening!), Ricepaper and I’m still debating on woodwinked…. AND the 224 brush — I also ordered Too Faced from Amazon a minute ago. 🙂 You are a bad influence for my bank account you know this, right?? LOL Thanks again so much. I love this blog, I keep coming back for more!

  3. So what would be an adequate dupe for Cut to fit? That look is really calling to me. And it’s great because I already have tan pigment…-sigh- Beautiful!. Also, could I use something like Electra or silver ring in place of softwash grey? Or would it be something I should buy a sample of?. Thanks for your help!

    1. Hmmm, CTF is a hard one to dupe exactly; you could substitute with something like MAC’s Antiqued or Twinks for a similar, but not exact look.
The look that uses Softwash Gray is so unique because you get an awesome purple when you layer it with Cranberry, so if you like the effect you’re seeing there, I’d say definitely go for a sample size of it! I don’t know that using Electra or Silver Ring would create the same effect because Softwash Gray has a blue tinge that those other grays don’t. Hope this helps! 🙂
