Spotlight On: MAC Passionate

Finish: Matte / Real mid-tone red

Known Dupes: Poste Haste, Pink Vivid pigment, UD Woodstock

Passionate is a dark, but bright pink shade that can be quite intimidating upon first glance. This is one I wanted for a while, but I only recently got up the courage to actually get it. πŸ™‚ I read several reviews before purchasing Passionate and many complaints were about the color pay-off. I personally did not have any trouble with it, but that could also be attributed to my fair skin. In my opinion, I don’t think those of you with fair skin will have any trouble getting this one to show up, providing you use a good primer. If you have a darker complexion, it may not be as easy and you could even try layering it over one of MAC’s paint pots (like Constructivist for example).

    1. Thanks, Linda! If you don’t have Orb, you can use any other highlighter that is similar to your skintone. Orb is one I liked using with Passionate as it’s like Vanilla but with more of a pink base to it. Any other highlighter should work just as well πŸ™‚

      1. Thanks for the quick reply! I’ve just found your page today, and it’s fantastic! I’ve got a lot of MAC eyeshadows and love to find new combinations. I always try to take pics of any new combinations that I’ve tried. Will definitely follow your site!

  1. What a creazy colour, but you can work magic with it!
P.S. i have seen all of combos you have made, but i decided to start to comment as from today, just that you would know what a excellent gift you have and you would just keep doing that and share with us also!
MAC should be very thankful to you πŸ˜›

  2. Amazing and beautiful as always. πŸ™‚ In look #2 what could I use to substitute Passionate? I don’t have it. I thought it would be too much for my light cool toned skin. Thanks!

    1. Hi Karah!
Thank you for the compliments! πŸ™‚ I completely understand; Passionate is definitely not an easy eyeshadow to wear (it scared me a LOT when I first got it!). I would suggest something like like Da Bling or Swish. They would be beautiful in its place. πŸ™‚ Hope this helps!

  3. I recently wore look #6 with a gray top, and added just a touch of Copperplate in the outer V. Loved how well it all came together! πŸ˜€
