Spotlight On: MAC Romp

Finish: Frost / Chocolate laced with gold

Known Dupes: Tempting

Romp is a classic neutral shade with a small amount of gold mixed into the formula. I typically don’t like Frost finish eyeshadows, but I don’t have any troubles with Romp. It applies smoothly, evenly and functions well in your neutral and colorful looks. I particularly love to pair it with other oranges and darker browns. In my opinion, Romp looks better on the lid than when used in the crease – there’s just so much shimmer to it when applied to the crease, but on the lid it’s more subdued.

Look #1

MAC eyeshadows used:

  • Romp (inner half of lid)
  • Amber Lights (outer half of lid)
  • Mythical LE (crease) – you could also use ‘Cranberry’ here
  • Rich Life pigment LE (deepen crease)
  • Blonde’s Gold pigment LE (middle of lid)
  • Gold Mode pigment LE (middle of lid)
  • Vanilla (blend)

  1. Love look #2-are there any mac shadows close to the pigments you used? I don’t have many pigments but lots of shadows. Thanks in advance

    1. Hey lady!
Hmmm . . . you could try Humid in place of Antique Green (although it’s a little darker) and something like Bows and Curtsies in place of Forest Green. Hope that helps! 🙂

  2. I broke down and got the forest green pigment also, LOL luckily I had gotten romp a little while ago. I did the look today. Love it-really brings out brown eyes nicely. Thanks Z
