Spotlight On: MAC Nehru

Finish: Matte / Muted bluish black

Known Dupes: Carbon

Nehru is described as a blue-black shade and works well in blue and purple combinations when you’re looking to add a little more depth or drama to a look. Similar to Typographic, but deeper and MUCH easier to work with compared to Carbon. Nehru blends away beautiful with the slightest movement of a brush and also melts into other colors just as nicely. I have found that I really LOVE using it to deepen the crease or define the outer crease/outer v. When applied lightly with a fluffy brush, you get a beautiful smokey effect, but the key to an even distribution and a nicely blended final look, is to use a VERY light hand with this one. Overall, it’s a keeper and is another great shade for adding drama to evening and party looks.

Look #1

MAC eyeshadows used:

  • Electra (inner half of lid)
  • Knight Divine (outer half of lid and lower lashline)
  • Print (crease)
  • Nehru (define and deepen outer crease)
  • Shroom (blend)

  1. Beautiful as always! I exceptionally liked looks 2,3 &4. I like how you made P.A. darker. It looks great on you. I loved that your using pigments! Ladies that don’t try pigments are losing out on some beautiful colors! It’s so easy and cheap to get samples online. I have to figure out how to pan them though, like eyeshadows are. I wanted to ask you how you like Jardin Aires Pigment? Is it nice on warm and cool toned skin? I saw that your going to do a Spotlight on Creme de Violet. 🙂 🙂 I’m looking forward to that! Thanks! Zabrena

    1. Heya Karah!
I couldn’t agree more! I’m such a pigment sample cheerleader! Such a cheap way to try new colors! I do like Jardin Aires and it did appear more neutral to me than most other gold shades that lean warm. If you’ve tried All That Glitters and liked it, I’d say go for this one. I did a video a while back on how to press pigments if you’re interested – I’m on my phone so I can’t copy and paste the link, but it’s under the ‘How To’ category and it’s called ‘How to Press Pigments and Create Custom Colors’ – hope that helps!

Yeah! Excited for Creme de Violet! 🙂

    2. Karah, I’m cool toned with dark hair and dark brown eyes and Jardin Aires is probably my favourite pigment of all time, which, of course, explains why they don’t repromote it! They never repromote the stuff I love or the stuff I missed and really WANT (okay, except for Petticoat…that’s about it).

      1. Mariella,
Thank you for the information. I know what you mean about liking something then they discontinue it! That makes me so mad! I was able to get a sample of J.A. What colors do you like to wear with J.A.? Thanks again 🙂

  2. I am only seeing “Look #1” but Karah refers to #2, 3 and 4 in her message. What am I doing wrong? Is my computer trying to tell me “you have enough eyeshadows; you don’t need any more temptation”?

    1. Hi! Mariella,
If you’re only seeing one look, it could be that you haven’t logged in to the site. I’ve had this happen to me before too! It should tell you at the bottom of the page, where the dark- pinkish area is, if you’re logged on or not. I hope this helps. I know what you mean about ” eyeshadow temptation”! Now Zabrena’s talking about how much she likes UD eyeshadows!

    2. LOL! Your computer has some nerve! Ha!
Sounds like Karah mentioned – are you logged in? If you are and still can’t see them, please let me know 🙂

@Karah – yeah! UD! Still love MAC though! (a little more – not as expensive as UD – sheesh!) 🙂

      1. Yes, that was it. Weird, since I never log out – I just stay logged in all the time! Thanks, ladies, for the pointer!
