Finish: Frost / Pink-violet with gold pearl
Known Dupes: Vibrant Grape
Crème de Violet is a purple-pink shade with tiny specks of gold glitter in the formula. You wouldn’t think this shade would offer much in terms of versatility, but it most certainly does! I found it very easy to pair with every color in the spectrum, with the exception of yellow and orange (ewww – ha!). If you’re looking for a bold pop of color in your looks and you find you can wear pink shades well, this is definitely one you might want to consider adding to your collection. It blends well, applies easily, high pigmentation; just an overall awesome shade!
Look #1

Beautiful Zabrena! 🙂 Very creative. I love how you made Creme de Violet look more purple. It looks a little pinkish on me ,but I definitely will be taking your suggestions to make it look more purple. I was wondering with the last look could I use Paradisco instead of Sushi Flower? or should I stick with S.F.? The looks are just gorgeous Zabrena! Some are soft and more feminine while others are more bold and colorful! 🙂
Zabrena
Thanks, Karah!
Sure you could! I think Paradisco would be beautiful there as well. It wouldn’t draw as much contrast, but it would be a very soft look!

What could I wear with seedy pearl and freshwater as dupes in your pics.
Zabrena
Hi Kay!
Those are hard ones to dupe – there isn’t really any other eyeshadow in MAC’s collection that compares exactly to them.
For Seedy Pearl, you could try Digit, Crystal or Beautiful Iris; again, not the exact effect, but similar.
For Freshwater, you could try Electric Eel or Deep Truth (for a darker look); not an exact effect as the pictures, but suitable replacements.
Hope that helps a little! 🙂

This was awesome, for YEARS I paired creme de violet with only Trax because I felt that was the only match due to creme de violet’s brightness (on me). But here you proved me wrong and looking forward to trying these combos! Thanks Z!
Zabrena
YAY! Glad you like them, Gina!! 🙂

I love Creme de Violet, especially with Atlantic Blue. Using Creme de Violet to clean the edge of Atlantic Blue (lid) and on the crease, it creates a gorgeous purple color. Thank you.

I was very hesitant buying this color but once I applied it, I was instantly in love! I did look #2 and it turned out beautifully… thanks again!. Also, somehow I have acquired a 100 strokes and I remembered I had it and did a little swatch on my hand… turns out I remember I love the color. would you do a lotd or eotd for me? I know its not a common color… Thanks!
