Spotlight On: MAC Moon’s Reflection

Finish: Veluxe Pearl / Blue with white pearl

So I know I am always knocking the blue shades from MAC’s collection (at least I have been lately) because they make my blue eyes appear lost, BUT I do love Moon’s Reflection! Probably because it’s a light blue, just barely there, and follows the rule that wearing a lighter shade than the color of your eyes will still make them POP. I personally found this one super easy to work with and blend. Among the many ways it can be worn, my absolute favorite would have to be on lid or on the waterline for an unexpected pop of color. This does compare to Tilt in that they are VERY similar; Tilt has more green undertones though and is slightly darker. Pairing easily with a variety of shades, Moon’s Reflection is certainly a winner in my book!

Look #1

MAC eyeshadows used:

  • Moon’s Reflection (on lid, below crease)
  • Beautiful Iris (crease)
  • Deep Truth (lower lashline)
  • Vanilla (blend)

  1. Beautiful Zabrena! You did a really great job with the spotlight. You created looks for everybody. Pinks, purples, greys, browns, and blues. Creative as usual! 🙂 I think I’m going to have to get Moon’s Reflection now. 🙂 Have you seen any of the new Mac products? I’ve gotten some of their emails and I noticed they have some new eyeshadows, lipsticks, etc. I just wondered if you saw anything you liked. Like we need more things to get us in trouble! 🙂

    1. Thank you, Karah!
The last collection I looked at was the one with the really bright colors – can’t remember the name of it right off the top of my head right now. There’s an orange in there I want – Dynamo I believe it is. Are you saying they’ve added new eyeshadows to the permanent collection?
Haha! Yeah, really! Like we need more to look it, and drool over! 😉

      1. Sorry, I did not get back to you sooner. Yes, they have or had a lot more things since the eyeshadows. A lot of products were selling out but of course their online to purchase. The last time I looked on MAC’s website, I saw some pretty lipsticks, that made me think of you. 🙂 They are lighter colors. I don’t know if they still have them on the site or not. I had to purchase one of MAC’s products through Amazon, because it was sold out through them. Have you ever gotten into using products to contour the face? I saw this video on YouTube doing it, and it was really amazing what she could do by using the right product. If someone has a larger nose you could make it look smaller, or if you want your cheekbones to be highlighted, and so many other things you can do. I just do not know the right products to use ,and I don’t know how to do it. The product the lady in video was using was a discontinued MAC product. I thought maybe you would know something about contouring the face. If you don’t that’s fine but I thought I would ask. Thanks for all your help Z! 🙂

  2. Love ALL of the looks! I normally don’t like blue shades but I think I might have to get this one!

  3. I was just given moons reflection and freshwater last weekend. I didn’t really think Id be using freshwater so I gave it to a friend. Look #3 made me regret doing so. 🙁 it looks beautiful!! I also love look #4!!!

  4. Would you say that ‘Moons Reflection’ and ‘Tilt’ are very similar? I have brown eyes but have never really known how to wear blues. Could I substitute ‘Tilt’ in these looks for a similar outcome?

    1. Hi Kelly! Moon’s Reflection is only slightly lighter than Tilt, so you might miss some of the contrast it creates when paired up with darker shades. Other than that, absolutely do try subbing Tilt for it any of these looks! 😉

  5. Beautiful spotlight! I almost bought M’sR today for my blue eyes.and stopped myself, as I already own so many eyeshadows. So I tried to create a similar shade to it with what I have… Deep Truth blended wih Phloof created Moon’s Reflection!!
