Spotlight On: MAC Corduroy

Finish: Matte / Muted reddish-brown

Corduroy is another one of your more unimpressive browns from MAC, upon first glance. When I first got it, I knew it reminded me of another brown and I was hoping it wasn’t going to give me the same troubles as that other brown (ahem, Brown Down). I am pleasantly surprised with Corduroy and it turns out that it is everything I wanted from Brown Down. It’s a more neutral brown with a matte formula that is easier to work with than that other color. I did find I had trouble blending it away when applied to the crease, so my favorite ways to wear it have been moreso on the outer half of the lid or as an eyeliner. It’s a nice color with a nice finish, but I don’t know that I’ll keep it.

Look #1

MAC eyeshadows used:

  • Grand Entrance LE (inner half of lid) – could also use ‘All That Glitters’ here
  • Corduroy (outer half of lid and lower lashline)
  • Brown Script (crease)
  • Blanc Type (blend)

  1. Beautiful! I especially like looks 2 and 3. I really like the addition of Saddle in the inner crease on look 3 – gives your eyes great dimension.

  2. Do you own any of the new MAC crushed metallic pigments? I have the tenderly warm collection… But I think they are way TOO sparkly to wear them together.. I have no idea how to wear them 🙁

  3. I have corduroy, but I really don’t like it 🙁 It’s hard to apply and same thing with blending. I think I’ll try to use it as a liner in stead, but that wasn’t what I wanted – I was actually looking for something to wear in my crease with All That Glitters.
