Finish: Veluxe Pearl / Deep plum with pearl
Known Dupes: Folie
Twinks is a deep plum-y neutral shade that is certainly not uniquely one-of-a-kind in MAC’s collection; if you already own Folie, you can get away with not purchasing Twinks (click here for the comparison) as the two are identical dupes of one another. Twinks has slightly more shimmer compared to Folie, but both shades are troublesome to blend out when applied to the crease. If you do plan to apply it to the crease, use a fluffier brush (like the MAC 217 or 286); it’ll be MUCH easier to blend away with a light application like that. I know there are several of you who have anxiously been awaiting this post, and while Twinks is a beautiful shade, it just doesn’t really thrill me that much. Between this and Folie, I actually prefer Folie for its less shimmery formula. If you’re looking for more combinations to use with Twinks, you’re also welcome to check the Folie Spotlight.

OMG-I love them all!! My favorites are 1 & 3. For 1 I have all the shadows! Imagine that, lol. For 3-don’t have seedy pearl-but I am sure I have a similar shade in another brand. Thanks Z

Haha! YAY! Yeah, any light purple shade will work well in Seedy Pearl’s place. π Enjoy!!

I get what your saying Zabrena. In the pictures it even looks hard to work with. Although, you always do a great job with a shadow, Twinks looks better in the pan. In the pictures it looks like another blah brown. The shade just doesn’t pop. Thanks for all your hard work! π

It is definitely just another blah brown! π Pain in the butt to work with! Thank you for the sweet compliments!

I bought Twinks years ago, after asking the MAC SA what she had on her lids – it looked amazing, and she told me it was Twinks. I was a bit iffy about it at first, because of the reddish undertones, but now I really love it. One of the reasons I like Chanel’s Ebloui is that it’s a lot like Twinks. And yet, Folie is a colour I can’t wear…it’s funny how the subtlest of differences can sometimes be really significant (it’s the same for me with Woodwinked, which I can’t wear, and UD’s Half-Baked, which is okay on me. Go figure! Anyway, I love the looks you’ve done and I think I’ll wear a lightened version of #1 today!
