Spotlight On: MAC Concrete

concreteFinish: Satin / Muted taupe brown

Concrete is another one of MAC’s MANY neutral brown shades, which I found to be an interesting one to work with. I would best describe it as more of a gray brown rather than a taupe brown as MAC describes it. It pairs beautifully with gray shades, as shown in some of the combos below. If you have brown hair, try using Concrete as a brow filler as that seems to be a very popular reason why it’s loved by many. Overall, this wasn’t a particularly exciting shade for me and it can easily be duped with many of MAC’s other browns. I much prefer many of MAC’s other browns to this one, but that’s me. How do you like Concrete?

  1. I was very eager to see this spotlight, Zabrena. Concrete (along with Coquette and Copperplate) are my “3 C’s” – shadows I will never be without. Sad to read you weren’t mad for it. I like it for a subtle smokey eye that doesn’t look too “Goth” and that I can wear in the daytime.

Yeah, I hear ya, sorry about that! I will try a couple more combos with it before swapping to see if I like it better. Just not thrilled!

  2. Wow, I can’t believe you don’t like this color – it looks beautiful on you. Very flattering with all the looks you did (#2 is unbelievable!).

  3. I <3 this colour sooooooo much with freshwater! Simply stunning, you just have such a great eye for colours that work!!! I'm off to mac now to buy freshwater 🙂 xxx

  4. Concrete and satin taupe were the first two colors of mac I purchased. I got them because I went to the store and a makeup artist did a smokey eye on me using those two colors. I just ordered a 15 palette solo excited to be expanding my collection!
