Focus On: MAC Fabby

Finish: Frost / Mauve with gold pearl

Rating: lippie2lippie2lippie2lippie2lippie2 (5 out of 5)

When you first look at this color on MAC’s website, it appears to be a midtoned purple shade with more plum in it than the ensuing pink you’re seeing here. I’ll admit I was hesitant to try what I thought was going to be a purple-based lip color, but this one surprised me – in a good way! It reminds me a LOT of Syrup though in its color, albeit more frosty of course. Like Syrup, Fabby is a PERFECT daytime color and pairs beautifully with all kinds of eyeshadows from neutrals to your brighter colors. Dare I say this is one you can wear with nearly every eyeshadow. It’s especially stunning when paired up with purple and green combos, as it doesn’t compete with the eyes. I did find this one to fade faster throughout the day and more reapplications were necessary, but that’s to be expected with this type of finish, in my experience. Do you have this color? How do you wear it?

As mentioned, you can pair this color up with every and any eyeshadow combination out there; the possibilities are endless. I’d recommend any neutral combo, greens, purples, pinks, oranges, grays/silvers, smokey black eyes and yes, even yellow based combos. Please note the below list is not a comprehensive list, but designed to give you ideas of combos to wear with this lip color.

  1. This is the sort of shade that I could easily wear. I have cool toned, pale skin, and sometimes I find a lot of lipsticks wash me out or are so bold that I look like a pair of lips on legs. I might have to give this one a try.

  2. Z–I picked this shade up two days ago and it is my new favorite. Wow, it looks great on me. I often stick with Angel or High Tea for the office. Nice to have a new color! Thanks for the insight! Lynda
