Face of the Day: The “Darkside” of Naked3!

The “Darkside” of Naked3!

naked3paletteI’ve been in LOVE with Darkside since the moment I laid eyes on it in the Naked3 palette! Which left me wanting to literally slather it ALL OVER MAH FACE! Ha! Okay, but seriously, I settled on just the lid with it today. This dark, sultry look is simply . . . whoooo-eeee!

I noticed when I first applied Darkside all over my lids, it did have somewhat of a bruising effect to it, so I decided to layer Burnout over the center of the lid on top of it, and it really pulled the look together beautifully. For those of you with medium to darker complexions, you probably won’t need to use Burnout like I did, unless you just really like the effect it gives. At any rate, it’s a love, love, loooooooove kind of look! How have you worn Darkside?

    1. Haha! I knew you’d LOVE! 🙂 Darkside is a gray shade with hints of purple and red tones, it’s highly unusual to anything I’ve ever seen before.

Love the combo! I’m rocking some UDN3 today, too. I’ve got buzz on the lid, nooner in the crease & strange on the brow bone. It’s a really simple look, but it looks great with the sweater I’m wearing today. I’m definitely going to try the “darkside” of UDN3!

    1. Ouuu! Now that combo sounds divine, Michelle!! I have tried Buzz as an all over lid color and really liked it! I bet it’d be killer with Limit in the crease, too! Thanks for sharing! 😉

    1. Thanks, K! I’m liking them a lot more than I thought I would! Is it just me or have they upped their game in the past couple of years?! I remember when I started out with makeup a LOT of drugstore – eyeshadows, particularly – were very hit and miss, but I’m finding all kinds of good ones lately!

  2. So beautiful! I just may try that look tomorrow! My husband laughed at me yesterday’s when I said I had to plan my “eyeshadow of the day”. Silly men, they just don’t understand!

    1. Very true Peggy! 🙂 It’s easier to plan your “eyeshadow of the day”. Unless, your going to do a simple look. If you don’t plan it, you can end up with a look you don’t want and take longer time getting ready. I absolutely get what your saying. 🙂

  3. This is GORGEOUS! I’m recently engaged (yay!) and we have no date set yet, but one thing is for sure: I am doing one of your Naked3 looks for my eyeshadow on the big day!! 😀

Because, you know, eyeshadow decisions are obviously one of the first things to decide on for a wedding. Hahahaha!!

    1. WOW!! Congratulations to you, Theresa!! 😀 😀 😀
Definitely! Eyeshadow is a VERY important decision! Thank you for entrusting me with your look on the special day! 😀

  4. I’m wearing this look today and I absolutely love it! I think it is a cooler version of look #2 in your Naked3 series. This look suits me much better since I am cool-toned. It has a purply hint of color that I like so much, I love Darkside! Thank you Zabrena for the inspiration! You’re the best beauty guru on the web!

  5. Love it on you! I have such a hard time with anything like a smokey eye. My eyes are dark green/blue, and anything dark on my lid just makes me look like I got punched in the eye. My daughter (who looks just like me, poor her, lol) has light blue eyes and pull off the darkest of smokey eyes. Call me jealous!

    1. Agghhh!! Have you tried a light to medium shade that counteracts with the depth of your eye shade? I would look for a light to medium purple or red-brown (if you can wear red-based shades, if not a cool medium brown). Smokey doesn’t mean it has to be dark-dark like I have it here; you can do it with any shade that’s either a touch or a tad darker than your complexion. Touch being a lighter color, tad being a medium color LOL 😉
