Purple-Orange Sunset Inspired Eyeshadow Tutorial

sunset

Today’s eyeshadow look was inspired by a picture I saw recently of a purple-orange sunset. The colors were so amazingly gorgeous together I couldn’t help but conjure up something for the eyes! This look uses a mixture of MAC and MUG eyeshadows and requires a LOT of blending and patience, but it’s well worth it in the end!

    1. Thanks, Hun! If it helps, you could think of this in terms of the colors and see if you already have something similar – so all you’d need would be a light purple, a medium purple, a medium orange and a light orange 😉

      1. Thanks, Z. I find your tutorials always helpful and inspiring :). I’m excited to try some shades from my collection. Weirdly enough, I do have kitschmas pigment. My mom randomly gave it to me a few years ago when she didn’t want it. Woo hoo!

  1. So gorgeous! And I just picked up Rule this weekend, so I’m on the hunt for orange-y looks 😉

I know I can use Fig. 1 instead of Nocturnelle (for a close enough dupe), but do you think Soft Brown is a good dupe for this look for the MUG Peach Smoothie?

    1. Hi Tanja!
      Whoo hoo for orange! 😀
Soft Brown is a little bit more brown than orange for a look like this, unfortunately. Arena would be a closer match, color-wise! 😉
But Peach Smoothie is much cheaper and a GREAT brow shade!

  2. Z, you deliver a fabulous make up tutorial every time. This is absolutely beautiful and looks absolutely stunning on you, thank you once again for your valued site!

  3. Well I was dying to try this look, but had a limited eyeshadow arsenal because I’m on vacation 😉 BUT…..I “channelled my Inner Zabrena” and came up with something close today! I used Lorac’s Nectar and MUG’s Mango Tango for the oranges, andI used Lorac’s Chrome in place of Nocturnelle. Luckily I had Kitchmas (“don’t leave home without it!”), but I layered it on the lid over MUG’s Wisteria, just for the heck of it. Turned out pretty nice if I do say so myself! Thanks for this beautiful look! Hope to try the real thing when I’m back home! 😀

  4. WOW!!! STUNNING!!!! LOVED THIS ONE!!! Good luck trying to out-do this look, Z…..You are so talented!!!! Did I say I loved this look??????
