Urban Decay Vice3 Palette Looks

vice3palette

One of the long-awaited mega palettes of the year! This palette boasts 20 brand new eyeshadows from Urban Decay in a box design, similar to the previous Vice palettes. There is a good mixture of mattes and shimmers, as well as some of those glitter bombs many of us could do without. Out of all the eyeshadows, there are 5 glitter bombers in particular that exhibit tremendous fallout: Bobby Dazzle, Brokedown, Freeze, Last Sin and Vanity. I have been applying them wet, which does help to eliminate some of the fallout, but not all of it. Despite this minor flaw (which we find in nearly every UD palette), it’s a pretty great palette. I like how many colors are offered and the amount of mattes provided as well (6 to be exact). Some of these are dupeable across other brands, most notably Undone and DTF (which you can find in LORAC’s Pro 2 Palette) … Lucky (MAC’s Amber Lights), Alien (MAC’s Da Bling), Revolver (reminds me of MAC’s Contrast) and Reign (UD’s Snakebite).

The pigmentation on many of these shades is superb with the exception of many of the aforementioned glitter bombs (ahem, Brokedown). Overall, I like that Urban Decay gave more versatility in this year’s palette and I feel it’s one worth getting if you don’t have a huge collection, or if you’re looking to add more color into your range.

My favorites from this palette include: Dragon, Sonic, Bondage and Alchemy. 😉

  1. Another great set of looks, Zabrina. I can’t decide if I want this palette – I particularly like the colors that probably won’t look best with my dark green, sometimes hazel, eyes (I’m looking at you, #4 and #6).

    1. Thank you, Vicky! 🙂
Hee hee … 4 and 6 are lovely! 6 is SO much more strong in person, it didn’t photograph as beautifully as I would’ve liked for it too. If you do get this palette, the pinks and purples would be GORG on your green/hazel eyes! 😉

  2. Beautifully done again Z so glad I purchased this last week when UD had there 20% F&F sale can’t wait to receive:)

  3. Great minds think alike. 🙂 #6 was the first look I did with this palette when I got it a few weeks ago. I can’t wait to try the others! They’re all gorgeous, especially #7.

  4. Ohhh my goodness these are beautiful!! Haha, I just saw that you posted a dupe for Lucky here, so you can disregard my question in your other Vice 3 post! 😉

This is making it so hard for me to hold off on buying the palette. Hahaha!! These are so super pretty and wearable!

Thanks for this post as always – if I stay strong and don’t buy the palette but get the dupes for my favorites, I’ll definitely come back to this! 😉

  5. So glad to see these looks and combos. Having just picked this up, I am looking for ways to use all these delicious colours!

  6. yeah!!! more looks. I have this palette and was waiting for some more ideas. Thanks Z!!! Great looks as usual.

  7. These colors and looks are beautiful. It seems to me that the most beautiful colors are all shimmery or glittery. Not a good look for me. Matte shadows are usually boring neutrals. Darn it! Thanks for sharing these great looks.

  8. Wow ! #6 is so beautiful ! I was also wondering what are you using for your eyebrows ? I have about the same hair color and what you’re using seem to be exactly what i’m looking for..

Thanks again for sharing your combo ! They’re a lot of help cause I don’t have much inspiration with eye shadows !

  9. You’ve worked your magic again! You have a gift, seriously… I loved to play with colors but I could not and have not ever come up with anything as beautiful as you do. I’m sure you hear that a lot but credit must be given where credit is due.

  10. Being a UD eyeshadow junkie I of course got this palette as soon as it came out and debated on whether I should keep it. I had read some bad reviews on some of the colors and to me it seems to lean more warm than cool (of course I am a total sucker for gold tones despite being cool toned, just love them!) so I wondered if it would actually work for me. So I’m looking through my stuff and I’m thinking, that shade’s pretty dupable, I must have something like that color, etc. but I am also smitten with green eyeshadow and Dragon totally kept calling my name. So I tried the palette out. I dug out my Vice 2 and tried the blue look you made the video about on one eye (ROCKED IT – even the hubby who doesn’t like a lot of eye makeup liked it) and a combination of primarily Lucky, Sonic and Bondage on the other. It was gorgeous, like a sunset, and those of you ladies worried about wearing this palette’s colors on hazel eyes needn’t. Give it a whirl. Z, you are a BAD influence and now I have to keep this palette to try some of your looks out. I seem to recall you admitting to this before! 😀

Oh, BTW – we checked out the Container Store while we were in Orlando and my reaction was just like yours in your video. *squeee!* This place is cool they have a container for everything I want it all why can’t there be one near me???

  11. I wasn’t planning on getting this palette but I saw it in person yesterday and fell in love with the colours! I especially love Sonic – that colour is soooo gorgeous! Super excited to get some ideas for combos from your site :o) . I can’t wait to try out my new palette!
