MakeupGeek Duochrome Eyeshadows
For this post I wanted to do something a little bit different from the traditional posts on the site. Instead of featuring just one eyeshadow at a time from the collection, I wanted to put together an entire post of looks using nothing but the duochrome shades! YAY! It helps to keep things exciting for me, too! 🙂 I am planning to use all of the shades so you can get a better idea of how to wear them. I will be adding lots more to this post over the next couple weeks, love these!

MUG eyeshadows used:
- Secret Garden (inner and outer third of lid)
- Karma (middle of lid)
- Preppy (crease)
- Vanilla Bean (blend out edges of Preppy towards brow bone)
Look #2
MUG eyeshadows used:
- Blacklight (inner half of lid)
- Caitlin Rose (outer half of lid)
- Taupe Notch & Fairytale (crease)
- Peach Smoothie (blend out edges of crease color)

Beautiful combos Z, quick question on look #5 is backlight on the crease different then the lid because of the black base or did you forget to mention your crease color? Cause if the base is the only difference, then it’s not just a beautiful combo, it’s an easy one too. I love this look. I’m definitely doing this look today.
I also have a request, if you could come up with a look using these shadows and incorporating mac heritage rouge, I’d be very happy 😊. I 💓 that pigment especially this time of the year.

Yes! Blacklight was used all over the eye in that look, but because a black base was used on the lid portion, it cancelled out the purple tones and brought out the blue. You can really see the difference between the lid and the crease, it’s awesome! Very easy and quick look! I will keep Heritage Rouge in mind for you; thanks for asking! 😉

I love your combos :). What can you recommend using instead of fairytale since I believe fairytale is currently out of stock? You posted this just in time my first order of makeup geek eyeshadows should be here today and I happened to have ordered several of the shadows you used. Blued eyed red here too who love purple:). I did order duchess but I think that is a little darker than fairytale. I do happen to own, mac’s blackberry, sketch, some pearlfusion pink luxe thing that’s awful, shale, and of course after dusk which is the x9 purple palette, and cool neutrals palette. Can you do a swatch comparison of sketch, blackberry, bitten, burlesque other red/burgundy ones side by side? I already know I want MG shadows but would prefer to buy ones that are different from what I own. Thank you so much!

Nevermind about Fairytale. I was just able to order it. Yes, I haven’t even worn my new MUG shadows that came today and I in fact ordered more, lol!

I do the same thing often Ariel – order new shadows before I’ve gotten to wear the ones I just ordered (or sometimes before the first shipment even comes in, lol)! It’s so easy with MUG shadows, since they are so affordable and you can order a few here and there!

Just recently bought Backlight and am loving it! Goes great on the ld with Mesmerized foiled shadow in the outer corner, and then pink matte shades in the crease, like Confection and Petal Pusher to deepen (or UD’s Limit and Nooner which appear to be close dupes). I can’t say enough great things about Makeup Geek!
